What is an IVA refund and who can claim one?
It's the procedure before the SAT to recover the IVA (Mexican VAT) you overpaid: your credit balance. Any individual or company whose creditable IVA exceeds the IVA they collected can claim it — typical if you export, sell at the 0% rate or invested heavily in assets and inventory.
How long does the SAT take to refund IVA?
The legal deadline is 40 business days from the claim. In practice it depends on the quality of the file: if the SAT issues information requests, the clock pauses. A well-built file from day one is the difference between collecting in weeks or fighting for months.
Can I recover IVA from previous months or years?
